There is no question but that Project Canefire is a huge team effort: from behind-the-scenes believers in Northern Michigan who work year-round to make and ship well parts, alongside companies that donate parts/labor or provide them at no cost. Dominican pastors and Canefire volunteers select work sites prior to the mission trip and donors fund both equipment and materials. Work teams go and villagers rush to assist the work that is done. Praise God for his nudging and blessing of so many. We feel privileged and thankful to be doing this vital work. Some villagers swing machetes to crack open coconuts, or they offer bags of water. Others mix cement, hold and glue pipes, lay blocks, gather pebbles for crosses, clean shoes, haul buckets of water, comfort babies, translate, drive, cook, encourage, and pray. The joy is palpable! . |
